We are happy to announce that artist Leonardo Vargas will be presenting the work developed during his residency period at Kinderdijk Project next Sunday, the 3rd of April. It’s exciting to see the outcomes after weeks of hard work!
Some words about his project:
‘They have a rotating cap and permanent body’ is a project that establishes a dialogue between the surrounding space in Kinderdijk, media image and Painting’s tradition. The surrounding space –as the Artist sees it personally – is connected to the same kind of solemnity that History of painting tries to establish, in terms of it being a historically charged system and an activity coming from a long and important tradition that involves some kind of silent distance within the experience in which the beholder is involved. At the same time, that idea gets questioned by the way we usually experience images now and that fact constitutes a tool in itself.
